A Shoutout to the Unsung Heroes: Federal Workers

I want to take a moment today to give a heartfelt shoutout to the federal workers who keep the wheels of justice moving — especially the clerk I lovingly refer to as my “homegirl” in the Northern District of Texas. In my book, she’s the best clerk in America. 💪

Walking Into The Unknown

I never thought I’d find myself here — filing federal lawsuits pro se (on my own). The first time I walked into the Northern District of Texas courthouse, my hands were shaking. I didn’t know what to expect, and fear had its grip on me.

Then came a small but powerful act of kindness. A clerk — who I now think of as an angel in disguise — guided me through the process. She showed me where to sign, double-checked my filings, and reassured me: yes, people do this all the time.

In that moment, her steady presence gave me the courage to take my first step forward.

From Shaking Hands to Steady Resolve

Fast forward to today: I walk into that courthouse calm, prepared, paperwork neatly in hand. And there she is again — flying through my filings with a smile on her face. I always make sure to thank her. She has no idea the weight of trauma that brought me there, but she consistently shows up with kindness, professionalism, and care.

Her simple, steady help makes all the difference.

Why Federal Workers Matter

This post isn’t just about one clerk — it’s about all the federal workers who show up every single day for us, the people. Even when Congress can’t always get its act together to ensure they’re paid, these workers continue serving. They keep the courts running, the filings moving, and justice accessible.

Without them, access to justice would grind to a halt.

The True Heroes of America

So today, my shoutout goes to the clerk in the Northern District of Texas — and to every federal worker across the country. You are the unsung heroes who make America work.

Thank you for standing with us, serving us, and keeping the doors of justice open.

Next time you cross paths with a federal worker — whether it’s a clerk, a postal worker, a TSA agent, or anyone else — take a moment to thank them. A simple word of appreciation goes further than you know. And if you’re on social media, join me in shining a spotlight on their service. Use your voice to remind people that these workers deserve not only our gratitude, but also the pay, protections, and respect they’ve earned.
